ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) - A mother and daughter from Plainville are on trial for allegedly pretending to be police officers when they went to a man’s home to persuade him to recant rape allegations against a relative.

The Sun Chronicle (https://bit.ly/28W8k1n ) reports that prosecutors say 67-year-old Hilma Nordstrom and 34-year-old Dannell French tried to the pressure the 27-year-old man into recanting the allegations he made against Nordstrom’s son and French’s brother.

The man testified Thursday they identified themselves as officers when they came to his door but didn’t have guns, badges or uniforms. He says they wanted him to sign a statement saying he lied to police.

The women testified in their own defense and denied they identified themselves as officers or were doing anything other than searching for the truth about the allegations.
