CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say a 15-year-old boy arrested after leading police on a foot chase told officers he fired two shots in a crowd of people following the Cleveland Cavaliers championship parade.

A 13-year-old girl was shot twice in the knees Wednesday afternoon but survived.

Cleveland.com reports (https://bit.ly/28T051v ) the teen shooter is facing weapons offenses and has been released to his grandmother. Police are working to identify a second shooter who remains on the lam.

Police reports indicate officers broke up a fight between a group of teenagers and tried to arrest a boy, but a 15-year-old girl started pulling him away. They say as officers were talking to the girl, gunshots rang out, sending a panicked crowd running.

Nobody else was hurt.
