NEW YORK (AP) - A time capsule filled with Staten Island-related artifacts will be buried in the foundation of a giant Ferris wheel being built on the borough’s waterfront.

The ceremony will be held on Saturday as developers finish pouring the concrete for New York Wheel’s 60-story foundation.

The Staten Island Advance (https://bit.ly/28RST5A ) says the time capsule will include items from the Staten Island Museum, Borough President James Oddo and other groups involved in the project and development of Staten Island’s North Shore.

More than 400 trucks will pour about 4,000 cubic yards of concrete into the foundation of the 625-foot-tall attraction overlooking the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor.

Completion of the wheel is slated for 2017. The project also includes a shopping mall and a hotel.
