MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson woman has been arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 10 and injuring an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper.

Marana police say 53-year-old Karie Laflamme has been booked into Pima County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault of a police officer and aggravated assault of a police officer with a weapon.

Authorities responded to 911 calls about a vehicle going the wrong way on I-10 around noon Friday.

The vehicle stopped in the center median emergency lane and when a DPS trooper gave Laflamme multiple commands to exit the vehicle, she drove off and ran over the trooper’s foot.

Laflamme was later arrested when she stopped her car again in another emergency lane.

DPS officials say the trooper was treated and released from a hospital.
