RHINELANDER, Wis. (AP) - A 7-year-old boy is being called a hero after he pulled his younger siblings out of a house fire.

The Rhinelander Fire Department honored Adam Granger during a ceremony Friday.

WISN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/28T3rTy ) that Adam noticed flames in his house on Tuesday, so he grabbed his infant sister and 4-year-old brother and got them outside.

The children’s father was in the yard at the time. Fire officials say the blaze might have started when one of the kids tried to cook on the stove.

The family lost many belongings, but everyone is safe.

Adam’s mother, Jenny Schroeder, says Adam just wanted to save his sister’s life.

Fire officials gave Adam a plaque, fishing gear and some toys.
