WASHINGTON (AP) - Police are hoping to identify a person of interest in back-to-back bank robberies in northeast Washington.

District of Columbia police said in a news release that a man handed a note demanding money to a teller at the Industrial Bank of Washington on 45th Street, Northeast, on Thursday morning. The man ran away with some money and got into a car with two other people.

Police say about 15 minutes later, two men walked into a Citibank nearby. One of them grabbed a teller by the neck and demanded money. The men left with the money and got into a car driven by another man.

Police have released surveillance images of one of the men believed to have taken part of the robberies.
