HARPSWELL, Maine (AP) - Maine firefighters and forest rangers managed to save four cottages from a fire that burned about four acres on Sheep Island in Casco Bay.

WMTW-TV reports (https://bit.ly/28TZ0sZ ) that no one was injured in the fire that started Friday afternoon, but two people were on the 9.4-acre island while the fire raged.

Two Maine Forest Service helicopters dumped water on the flames and firefighters from surrounding communities helped battle the blaze.

The island is located off Harpswell. Some firefighters remained on the island overnight to monitor hot spots.
