KINGSTON, N.Y. (AP) - The sloop Clearwater is back in its home port of Kingston after a major overhaul of the 47-year-old vessel’s hull.

Saturday is Hudson River Day at the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston, and the Clearwater will offer deck tours to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A dockside relaunch ceremony is planned on July 4 at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie, with an evening sail departing at 7 p.m.

The $850,000 restoration work on the Clearwater comes decades after folk music legend Pete Seeger helped launch it in 1969 as a symbol of efforts to rid pollution from the Hudson.
