CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Four people are safe after they were rescued from their fishing boat which capsized off the South Carolina coast.

The Coast Guard reports that an alert from an electronic positioning device on the 21-foot boat was received about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A helicopter and a 45-foot rescue boat were dispatched by the Coast Guard to the scene about 11 miles east of Charleston.

When Coast Guard personnel arrived, they found four people wearing life jackets on the hull of their capsized vessel. The four were brought back to Mount Pleasant by the Coast Guard. There were no injuries. Their names were not released.

There were thunderstorms moving through the area at the time.
