ALLOUEZ, Wis. (AP) - Officials say three staffers were injured in an attack by an inmate at the Green Bay Correctional Institution.

Press-Gazette Media (https://gbpg.net/29fVBoc ) reports two workers were stabbed and beaten by the inmate Wednesday, and a third was hurt trying to break up the fight.

Brown County sheriff’s officials say all three were treated at a Green Bay hospital and released.

Officials said the facility in Allouez was temporarily locked down after the attack, which was reported just before 10 a.m.

The inmate suffered minor cuts. He refused treatment.

Investigators plan to refer the case to prosecutors for possible charges.

Three staffers also were injured in an attack by an inmate at the facility in September.
