VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Vicksburg and Warren County authorities are asking residents in downtown Vicksburg and those around the Vicksburg National Military Park to be aware of a bear.

Authorities say the bear was spotted Sunday morning.

Police Chief Walter Armstrong tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/28ZSdur) the bear does not appear to be aggressive and he doesn’t appear to be in any kind of a hurry. Armstrong said the bear seems to be out on a stroll.

Officials have urged residents to not approach the bear, but if you see it, you are asked to leave the bear alone, move indoors and call 911.
