SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say a New Jersey high school math teacher has been charged with sending two inappropriate photos of herself to a student on social media.

Middlesex County prosecutors say 29-year-old Mallory Christ sent the photos to a male student in February.

The South Plainfield High School teacher has been arrested. She was charged on Monday with endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors say she is jailed without bail in North Brunswick.

An investigation began after the school learned of the photos, which were posted on social media.

Christ taught math to juniors and seniors in the district for two years. She also coached high school cheerleaders.

She previously worked at Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Christ has an attorney.
