TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The National Weather Service says parts of southern Arizona may experience heavy rainfall and potential flooding.

Meteorologist Mike Cantin said the Nogales area saw a strong storm earlier on Wednesday but that the weather has since calmed and moved toward Arivaca.

Tucson is also preparing to get its share of rain and the agency has issued a flood warning until nighttime.

The Tucson area saw a little less than half an inch of rain on Tuesday night but the day has been mostly dry.

Cantin said areas around Speedway and Tanque Verde and Houghton should be on the lookout out for flooded streets washes.
