NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a woman riding her bike with her father was struck and killed by a driver who then slammed into a Long Island house.

It happened in Hicksville just before 3 p.m. Wednesday as the woman in her 40s was bicycling with her father on New South Road.

Police tell Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/294M0Ph ) a Ford Explorer traveling southbound struck the father and then the daughter, clipped another vehicle and then hit a two-story brick home, completely demolishing its front porch.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The father, also on a bicycle, and the 57-year-old woman driver were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police have not yet released their identities.

Police say they’re still investigating what caused the driver to veer into the northbound lanes striking the bicyclists.
