BOSTON (AP) - The singer tabbed for the Canadian national anthem before Friday night’s game between the Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox botched both the melody and the lyrics, drawing boos from a crowd that included a sizeable Toronto contingent.

Jack Donahue, of Worcester, Massachusetts, ran into trouble early on, mixing the melody from a later segment in with the first verse of “O Canada.” Then he seemed to forget the words before consulting his notes and finishing strong.

A woman lined up for the U.S. anthem performed without incident.
