MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut firefighters made an unexpected rescue after a Great Dane became trapped on the roof of a home.

Firefighters were called to the Middletown home around 7:30 a.m. Friday. They say the dog got on the roof by pushing through the screen on a window.

Neighbors heard the dog barking and called for help.

Firefighter Mike Souza says he was able to guide the dog back through the open window. No injuries were reported.
