FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Authorities in northwest New Mexico have removed a man’s body from the San Juan River.

The Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1r5Frn0 ) that San Juan County Sheriff’s Office detective Devin Verhulst says deputies received a call Thursday morning about a heavily decomposed body on the riverbank in the community of Waterflow.

Verhulst says detectives found a Safeway card and an electronic benefits transfer card on the body. He says officers were able to identify the body as 52-year-old Moretto Toledo of Farmington based on the cards and distinguishing tattoos.

Verhust says detectives do not suspect foul play.

Detective Lt. Kyle Lincoln says the body will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy.
