ETNA, Pa. (AP) - A man must stand trial on charges he shot a couple after an argument over money at his Pittsburgh-area apartment, though his attorney claims the suspect acted in self-defense.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (https://bit.ly/22CNupg ) reports 30-year-old Joshua Huber was ordered to trial after a preliminary hearing Friday on charges that he killed 30-year-old Derek Schindler and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Melissa Zuk.

Allegheny County detectives say that happened in Huber’s Etna apartment on April 15 after the trio spent time drinking and smoking marijuana. Huber was taken into custody at the scene after a neighbor intervened and held him at gunpoint until officers arrived.

Defense attorney Robert Andrews says Zuk slapped Huber and Schindler rushed at Huber, who suffered a broken nose and other injuries. He’s charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
