MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was found dead of a gunshot wound in a car in downtown Mobile.

Mobile Police Officer Terence Perkins tells local media that police responded to the scene around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday. The man had been shot at a different location. Another man who may have witnessed the shooting called 911 and was driving the victim before he died in the car.

Police couldn’t confirm if the two were on the way to a hospital.

No other details have been released. Perkins says the incident remains under investigation.
