LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska prison officials say two inmates punched prison staff members earlier this week.

Department of Correctional Services spokesman Andrew Nystrom says Friday that two inmates at the Nebraska State Penitentiary ran toward two employees Monday and began punching them. Physical force was used to stop the inmates.

Both staff members were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local medical facility and released. No names have been released.

Officials are investigating the incident.
