VINITA, Okla. (AP) - A murder suspect on the run from North Carolina has been apprehended by authorities in northeastern Oklahoma.

Television station KOTV reports (https://bit.ly/25BxwNL ) that 23-year-old Christopher Rouson was arrested on Thursday at a Craig County convenience store. Officials say Rouson is wanted in connection with the murder of his father and stepmother in Bertie County, North Carolina.

Police officers in Vinita say a clerk at the convenience store had a bad feeling when Rouson walked inside, so he called police. Police Chief Bobby Floyd didn’t immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press.

The bodies of James Rouson, and his wife, Anna, were found in their home on Tuesday. Christopher Rouson lived with his parents.

Rouson is being held in the Craig County Jail awaiting his return to North Carolina.
