KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Three law-enforcement officers have been treated after being exposed to an unknown substance inside a vehicle where two people were found dead on the Turnpike in central Florida.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a Florida Highway Patrol trooper found the SUV with the two unidentified people inside on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the vehicle had minor damage from hitting a guard rail.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain says investigators don’t believe the deaths were caused by the crash. Autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

The trooper and two deputies were treated at a hospital after being exposed to the substance.

The incident closed the busy highway in both directions for a few hours, snarling traffic near an area often congested by tourists.
