SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Police have added a criminal homicide charge against a 16-year-old Pennsylvania girl already charged as an adult with stabbing an 18-year-old woman in a Facebook feud.

The defense attorney for Cathleen Boyer contends she stabbed Kayla Van Wert in self-defense after they met in an alley to settle the beef over the father of Van Wert’s 1-year-old daughter.

Scranton police say two knives were found at the scene, where at least five other teen stood watching Sunday’s pre-arranged fight.

Police say the women traded punches and that Van Wert was on top of Boyer and getting the best of the fight when Boyer reached up and stabbed her several times.

Police Chief Carl Graziano said investigators are reviewing whether any of the witnesses might face charges for not intervening.
