SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) - A sightseeing boat tour is planned to check out a grounded freighter in Whitefish Bay off Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie reports (https://bit.ly/1TZqT2D ) Friday’s trip by Soo Locks Boat Tours was planned following a spike in interest in seeing the Roger Blough, which ran aground a week ago on a reef.

The U.S. Coast Guard is working on freeing the roughly 850-foot freighter.

Divers have checked the vessel’s hull for damage and authorities are investigating what caused the grounding.
