BYRAM, Miss. (AP) - Officials have identified a man believed to be an intruder who was shot and killed in a home burglary in Byram.

Media outlets report the Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart says 18-year-old Cameron Jackson of Byram died Wednesday.

Police say an unidentified resident of the home shot Jackson to death when Jackson entered the home.

Detectives believe Jackson and 18-year-old Samuel Reed had conspired to rob the home and that Reed had been visiting the residence.

Reed was arrested and charged with capital murder in the case.

Capital murder is the charge whenever a death occurs during the commission of another crime.

It’s immediately unclear whether Reed has an attorney.
