AKRON, Ohio (AP) - The Akron Zoo in northeast Ohio says three snow leopards born in March finally have names.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1RR7vR8 ) that instead of being called the “triplets,” the cubs are now named Asha, Altai and Layan.

It took less than 60 seconds for the cubs to choose their names on Thursday. They picked from six possibilities by sticking their noses into plastic tubs labeled with names. The zoo allowed people to submit names for consideration.

The cubs will make their public debut Friday and will be on display from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. every day.

Zoo officials say those hours will expand over time as the leopards become more accustomed to the public spotlight and their outdoor home.
