HARVEY, La. (AP) - Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies say the body of a man found in a Harvey ditch is that of 25-year-old Cordaryle Roberts, of Slidell, who has been missing since Friday.

Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the department, said in a news release authorities have not yet determined Roberts’ cause of death, though his body found Wednesday did show signs of trauma. He says detectives are investigating his death as a homicide.

Roberts was last seen leaving his home in Slidell on Friday. Slidell police said he told a relative he was leaving work in Pearl River and heading to New Orleans.

Cordaryle’s car was found burned in Lafourche Parish a day later.
