CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve found the body of a 48-year-old man who went missing while tubing on a western New York lake last weekend.

Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace tells The Post-Journal of Jamestown (https://bit.ly/29fN877 ) that volunteer firefighters found Ricky Whipple’s body early Thursday morning about 200 yards from the shore of Chautauqua Lake, 45 miles south of Buffalo.

Whipple, who lived in nearby Conewango Valley, fell off a tube that was being pulled by a motor boat on Saturday evening. He’s believed to have drowned.

Witnesses told police that he wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
