MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - The Meridian Star has named Dave Bohrer as the paper’s new editor.

The paper (https://bit.ly/297DgsW ) reports that Bohrer comes to Meridian from the Star-Gazette in Elmira, New York.

During his 38-year career, he has also held positions at other newspapers in the New York area including the Ithaca Journal.

Bohrer started his career as a sports writer and editor for The Post-Star in Glen Falls, New York. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in journalism.

Bohrer has traveled to all 50 states and told the newspaper he is looking forward to visiting Mississippi and the region.

Meridian Star publisher Alexander Gould said Bohrer’s experience will help propel the newspaper forward for “years to come.”
