ETHAN, S.D. (AP) - A substitute teacher in South Dakota’s Davison County has acknowledged that he sent sexually explicit photos to students.

The Daily Republic (https://bit.ly/29ehXYk ) reports 20-year-old Tyler Myers pleaded guilty Thursday to three misdemeanor counts of disseminating harmful material to minors. The Ethan resident received a 60-day suspended jail sentence for each count and was ordered to pay more than $800 in fines.

Myers was charged earlier this year after Ethan High School officials contacted law enforcement. Authorities accused Myers of sending explicit images of himself to three 17-year-old students.

Myers had worked at the high school as a substitute physical education teacher and substitute janitor.

Judge Gordon Swanson determined it was unnecessary to require Myers to attend counseling. Swanson also questioned the Ethan School District’s decision to make a “20-year-old kid” responsible for high school students.
