CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Vendors who sell handmade products in Charleston are getting a night in the spotlight.

The city is holding the fourth annual Handmade in Charleston Awards on Thursday to honor market vendors whose products are handmade in the Lowcountry. It’s being held at the Charleston City Market, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.

Mayor John Tecklenburg will honor the winners and then will play keyboards with a jazz combo that is performing at the market.

Tecklenburg, who in January began serving as mayor, is an accomplished musician.
