MONTICELLO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve charged a 24-year-old man with fatally shooting another man during a domestic dispute at an upstate New York home.

Police in the Sullivan County village of Monticello tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown (https://bit.ly/295yrzh ) that officers were called to a home early Tuesday evening and found 28-year-old Juan Medina dead in a doorway.

Police say he had been shot several times.

Officials say Carlos Serrano Valentine was arrested without incident at the Monticello apartment of an acquaintance. He was arraigned Wednesday on second-degree murder charges and sent to the county jail without bail.

It couldn’t be learned from authorities Thursday morning if Valentine has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
