BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to assaulting and injuring a Three Affiliated Tribes officer.

Arlon Smith is charged with assaulting and resisting a federal officer. Authorities say the incident happened in August 2015 on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.

Smith faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
