DALLAS (AP) - A man who admitted to robbing five convenience stores in Dallas with an accomplice has been sentenced to 26 years in federal prison.

The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/29bhKpZ ) reports that 27-year-old Jerry Ware was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty in 2015 to two counts of using, carrying, brandishing and discharging a firearm during or in relation to a crime of violence.

U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas says 23-year-old Kevin Howard pleaded guilty to one count of the same offense. His sentencing is scheduled for October.

Court documents say Ware and Howard committed five armed robberies in October 2014. Parker says that in each robbery, Ware threatened the store clerks with a firearm while Howard acted as the getaway driver.
