ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Residents visiting an Aspen community garden are being warned that moose have been spotted in the area after one of the animals charged a woman walking her dogs.

The Aspen Times reports (https://bit.ly/29cr4Kr ) the moose charged toward the woman on Wednesday after her dogs, which were off-leash, startled the animal. The moose charged the woman, then backed away and took off.

The woman told police she has never seen a moose while walking in the area. Moose are known to be aggressive animals and could have attacked the woman.

Neither the woman nor her dogs was injured in the encounter.
