NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Police in New Jersey’s largest city have seized more than 6,300 fireworks.

Newark police were called Wednesday night about a man selling fireworks from a car on Vassar Avenue. Officers charged 35-year-old Ahmad Harris of Newark with possession of illegal fireworks.

The fireworks included bottle rockets, bunker bombs and Roman candles.

It is illegal in New Jersey to possess, use or sell fireworks.
