MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The old clock tower from Dakota Square Mall in Minot has been put up for sale.

The clock had stood in the mall for 35 years, since it opened in 1980, and was an integral part of the shopping center’s identity. It was a meeting point for many shopping families.

Mall management removed it a year ago as part of remodeling and had hoped to bring it back in a new, outdoor location once a mall addition was constructed.

General Manager Chuck Massey tells the Minot Daily News (https://bit.ly/28W6qbQ ) that those plans didn’t work out because the clock couldn’t be weatherized.

The mall donated the clock to Craft Builders, which had done construction work at the mall. The company is now selling it, hoping to get $3,000.
