OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - State investigators are looking into a possible case of voter registration fraud in Murray County.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown confirmed the investigation on Thursday, but declined to discuss details because it was ongoing. She says the Murray County District Attorney’s Office requested the probe last month.

A telephone message left with Murray County Assistant District Attorney David Pyle wasn’t immediately returned.

State Election Board spokesman Bryan Dean says his agency and employees are cooperating fully with the investigation.

Brown says when the OSBI’s inquiry is completed, it will be submitted to prosecutors to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
