BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Police say an 11-year-old boy has been shot in the head in a double shooting in western New York.

Officials say the shooting happened Wednesday night in Buffalo on an east-side street near the Cheektowaga (cheek-tuh-WAH’-guh) town line. A 20-year-old man was also shot.

Investigators say both the boy and the man are hospitalized Thursday in critical condition.

City Police Commissioner Dan Derenda says police believe the shooting is gang related.
