PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Latest on charges filed in a 13-year-old’s shooting death (all times local):

6 p.m.

Authorities say a 17-year-old boy has been charged, along with another teen, for his role in the fatal shooting death of a 13-year-old boy in the backyard of a Philadelphia home.

Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office spokesman Cameron Kline said Thursday the 17-year-old was charged with recklessly endangering another person after loading and playing with the gun in the Wednesday night shooting. The office charged a 15-year-old with involuntary manslaughter after pointing the gun at the younger boy’s head and firing the weapon.

The boy died at a hospital.

Police say the group of juveniles found the gun in a vacant house in the city’s East Germantown neighborhood.

Authorities have not named the teens because they have been charged as juveniles.

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy will face charges after pointing a gun at a 13-year-old boy and fatally shooting him in the face in the backyard of a Philadelphia home.

Police spokesman Jeff Chrusch said Thursday that the teen will be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Wednesday night incident. Police have not named the teen because it remains unclear if he will be charged as a juvenile or an adult.

Police say a group of juveniles played with the gun after finding it in a vacant house in the city’s East Germantown neighborhood. Police say the 15-year-old pointed the gun at the boy’s head and fired the weapon.

The boy was pronounced dead at a Philadelphia hospital at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The teen surrendered overnight to police.

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy has turned himself in after a 13-year-old boy was fatally shot in the face in Philadelphia while a group was playing with a gun.

Philadelphia police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said Thursday that the teen surrendered, but no charges have been filed in the Wednesday night incident.

Police say the pair was with a group of “several juveniles” playing with a gun in the backyard of a home when the 13-year-old was shot.

He was pronounced dead at a Philadelphia hospital at 6 p.m.

Police say they’ve recovered the gun believed to be involved in the shooting. They’re continuing to investigate the incident and where the weapon came from.
