WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A 33-year-old Worcester woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly struck a young girl and her grandmother with her SUV while chasing another vehicle in an apparent domestic dispute.

Police say the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near St. Vincent’s Hospital.

The unidentified woman was chasing a 42-year-old man driving a truck when she struck his vehicle, lost control and ended up on the sidewalk where the 5-year-old girl and her 54-year-old grandmother were standing.

The two suffered multiple injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

The unidentified woman faces a range of charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and reckless driving.

She’ll be arraigned Thursday at Worcester County District Court. Police say they can’t identify her because she’s involved in a domestic assault case.
