CECIL, Pa. (AP) - Investigators are trying to find out what started a blaze in a western Pennsylvania pretzel factory that took a dozen fire companies six hours to get under control.

Authorities in Washington County said the fire at Pretzels Inc. in Cecil Township was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday during a shift change.

Company officials said about 20 workers were able to evacuate safely and there were no injuries.

Fire crews from 12 companies were called and managed to get the flames under control at about noon. Crews were still putting out hot spots during the afternoon.

CEO Scott Smith said officials would work with insurance providers to figure out how quickly they can get back in operation, but he vowed “a good plan for the people who work here.”
