FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - A Fall River high school student was killed in a rollover car crash on her way to prom.

Police say 18-year-old Hannah Raposo was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer when it flipped over several times on Route 24 around 6 p.m. Friday.

Raposo was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital a short time later.

The sole passenger of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Fall River man, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.

Raposo and her passenger were headed to their BMC Durfee High School prom at the White’s of Westport event space at the time of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
