PITTSBURGH (AP) - Los Angeles Angels right-hander Nick Tropeano has been scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates because of illness.

Jhoulys Chacin (1-1, 3.42) will start in Tropeano’s place after being originally scheduled to pitch Sunday in the finale of the three-game series. It will be Chacin’s fifth start since the Angels acquired him May 11 from the Atlanta Braves in a trade.

The Angels are hopeful Tropeano will be well enough to start Sunday. He is 3-2 with a 3.25 ERA in 10 starts.
