BUFORD, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in Lancaster County say a man wanted in connection with the robbery of a convenience store has been captured in North Carolina.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (https://bit.ly/1PssE9L) 35-year-old Joshua Duane Smith was arrested at a home in Monroe, North Carolina, Friday afternoon..

Investigators say a man entered the store in Buford between 4:15 and 4:30 a.m. wielding what appeared be a shotgun with a left-handed grip. After pointing the weapon at the clerk and demanding money, the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Smith is being held in Union County, North Carolina, on charges related to theft of a pickup truck. He also faces armed robbery charges in Lancaster County. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
