GEDDES, N.Y. (AP) - A 33-year-old woman who was injured when a tree fell on the SUV she was riding in near Syracuse has died.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1U1aCu3 ) that Danielle Menzies died Thursday.

Menzies, of Baldwinsville, suffered critical injuries during the freak accident in the town on Geddes on May 29.

State police say 38-year-old Joshua Lance of Syracuse was driving an SUV when a large tree toppled over and landed on it.

Lance and Menzies, his passenger, had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Troopers say both were taken Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where Lance was treated and released.
