LAS VEGAS (AP) - Two people have been killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle crash on the northwest side of Las Vegas.

Police say the driver of a 1998 GMC Sierra pickup was headed northbound on Rainbow Boulevard at about 4:50 a.m. Sunday when he apparently ran a red light at Alta Drive and struck a 2014 Hyundai Sonata.

Investigators say both vehicles went off the road and into a block wall in back of a residential home.

The driver, a passenger and two dogs in the Hyundai were killed.

The names of the victims have not bene released.

The driver and two passengers in the pickup were taken to University Medical Center with what police described as moderate injuries.

The pickup driver was identified as 23-year-old Christian Carrillo of Las Vegas.
