HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Two men are facing charges after a car chase involving a stolen vehicle.

The Hartford Courant reports (https://cour.at/1ZoQP9t) that 35-year-old Ricardo Perez was driving the stolen car around 9 p.m. Saturday when police officers stopped him on Park Street.

Police say Perez put the car into drive, striking one officer, and then fled. A car chase ensued during which four police cars were damaged. Perez was eventually caught.

Police say one detective, two officers and Perez suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Perez is charged with reckless endangerment and related crimes. He and his passenger, 38-year-old Emilio Diaz, are both charged with possession of a hallucinogenic drug and marijuana.

It’s unclear whether the men have lawyers who could comment.

Phone numbers for the men could not be found in online public records.
