SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Twenty-three people representing nine fire departments are scheduled to graduate from the Department of Fire Services’ Springfield campus.

State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Director George Kramlinger will present certificates of completion at Tuesday’s ceremony.

The guest speaker will be Agawam Fire Chief Alan Sirois.

The 23 graduates, all men, represent the fire departments in Agawam, Amherst, Easthampton, Holyoke, Ludlow, Northampton, Springfield, West Springfield and Westfield.

This is the second recruit training program held at the Springfield campus. The state bought the former Springfield Fire Training Center from the city and recently completed a $13.4 million renovation and construction project on the six-acre complex.
