MORGANTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities have arrested two men wanted in the fatal shooting of a man in Burke County.

Sheriff Steve Whisenant tells local media outlets that 35-year-old Christopher Eron Williams was shot in a mobile home near Morganton early Thursday and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities say two men they suspected in the shooting, 29-year-old William Chase Pate and 27-year-old Cordero Louis Thompson, were discovered to be at a home in McDowell County later Thursday. Whisenant says officers surrounded the home and ordered the men to come out, which they did without incident.

Investigators say Pate has been charged with murder. Thompson is charged with accessory after the fact of murder, and it wasn’t immediately clear if they had attorneys.
